Maximus Matheson

 General Grant

I attended a language immersion trip to Spain in December with five of my fellow students. Together we went to school each day and explored the city of Madrid in our free time. The highlight was exploring the Retiro Park near my host family's apartment. I also loved the special outings to musems and a day trip to Alcazar de Segovia, a magnificant castle in an old town that was once the captial of Spain. It was fully burn down but is now restored.

I loved expierencing the culture, although traditional Marid food was quite plain, the paella was amazing and is now my favourite food.

I am 100% committed to practicing medicine in rural Australia when I complete my studies. Being able to go on the Spanish Immersion trip has helped me feel confident in my final year, helped with my speaking, listening and writing of Spanish which in turns allows me to achieve a high ATAR so I can become a doctor.

Thanks to Connellan Airways Trust for helping me make this once in a lifetime trip happen.
