GRANTS & AWARDS - ELIGIBILITY OF APPLICANTS

You are eligible to apply to the Trust for financial assistance if you:

  • Reside on stations or in small settlements in the remote parts of outback Australia or,
  • live in the larger outback centres of Australia and provide expertise or otherwise serve or assist remote area residents

People of all ages who meet the above criteria may apply to the Trust for a grant. If you are 16 or more years of age and you have an educational aim, you may also apply for the annual E.J. Connellan Award.

The Trust also provides assistance with:

  • accommodation expenses for parents who meet the residential criteria stated above, whilst attending School of the Air or Schools of Distance Education (SOTA) functions (see “Making and Application - SOTA events assistance”).

and with

  • the travel expenses of Volunteers for Isolated Education (VISE) tutors who are assisting parents who meet the residential criteria stated earlier (see “Making an Application - VISE tutor assistance”).
